A new sports lounge called Blinders will open in South End this spring.

Why it matters: Its owners believe their nearly 60-foot by 15-foot TV screen is the largest on the East Coast outside a stadium or casino. “If you take away the Top Golfs of the world, it’s our belief that we have the largest continuous screen from Boston to Miami,” Kush Anandani, director of OmShera Holdings, tells Axios.

The vibe: Blinders will have the energy of a sports bar mixed with the aesthetic of a cocktail lounge, topped off with the viewing experience of a sportsbook like you would find in Las Vegas.

  • The 5,500-square-foot spot seats 160 plus 50 more on its 1,500-square-foot patio.
  • Located in the heart of South End at 225 W. Tremont Ave., Blinders is next to Bang Bang Burgers and diagonally across from QC Pour House.
  • The large screen will be visible from all parts of the bar. It’s also built to be multipurpose. “If the DJ wants to use it to put up a Britney Spears video, they can do that,” Anandani said.

Dig in: Its menu is still being developed but Anandani says that the cocktails will be priced at “comparable” prices to nearby bars in South End.

Zoom in: The project is a nearly total overhaul of the 1950s building, which was originally a manufacturing facility.

  • The crowned jewel of Blinders — its large screen — features nearly 850 square feet of 4K display and a state-of-the-art audio system. OmShera tapped industry experts Peerless-AV and DC Bolt for the right equipment. “The whole concept is very technology-driven,” Anandani said.
  • Other partners in the project include Myers & Chapman, Cluck Design Collaborative, First Bank and Avella Design Collective.

Between the lines: OmShera Holdings is a Charlotte-based commercial real estate firm with plans to open a hotel in South End.
