Charlotte’s dining and drinking scene ended the year with a few openings, more closures and a sudden fall for one of the area’s most well-known breweries.

Dilworth added a cozy, neighborhood wine bar, with Alex Bridges and chef Andres Kaifer — the duo behind Customshop in the Elizabeth — transforming a 1,200-square-foot space at 2400 Park Road into Emmy Lou’s. The wine-centric venture offers rotating seasonal lunch and dinner menus as well as beer and nonalcoholic beverages.
