Chopt Creative Salad Co., the fast-casual restaurant that reimagined what a salad can be, is excited to announce the opening of its 8th North Carolina restaurant in Winston-Salem on March 24. In celebration of its opening, Chopt will partner with Second Harvest Food Bank, a local nonprofit organization whose work focuses on ending hunger in the community for Chopt Gives on March 23.
Chopt is known for quality, flavor and creativity opens in North Carolina’s Triangle
Chopt combines seasonal ingredients and authentic flavors from around the world to invent unbelievably cravable salads. At Chopt, 17 scratch-made dressings and freshly-brewed iced teas and lemonades, are all made fresh daily. They also build partnerships with regional artisans and purveyors within each of their communities; in North Carolina their menus feature Holly Grove Farms goat cheese, Roots hummus, and Hollar & Greene Farms red & green cabbage, which add a unique and local freshness to the menu. Chopt will also partner with Winston’s own Camino Bakery for its daily offering of freshly baked bread.
The Chopt team goes to crazy lengths to find delicious flavors. In addition to its classic and build-your-own salad options, Chopt travels to a new destination every 60 days, creating limited-time only salads inspired by locations near and far. The Winston-Salem location will open with Destination California, a feature of the greatest tastes of the region via the Spicy Sonoma Caesar Salad, Chinatown BBQ Chicken Salad, and Baja Shrimp Bowl.
As is custom with each new restaurant opening, Chopt will celebrate Chopt Gives Day on March 23 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and again for dinner from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.. All customers who make a monetary donation to its charitable partner Second Harvest Food Bank will receive a free salad. Regular business hours commence on March 24.
“Our growth in North Carolina has been incredibly exciting,” says Colin McCabe, Chopt Co-founder. “We’ve discovered some amazing ingredients and partnered with many local artisans along the way. Winston-Salem is an eclectic area with a strong history, vibrant arts scene, and exciting food landscape. We are pleased to open our 8th restaurant in North Carolina and our 1st in this community.”
“We are excited to partner with Chopt Creative Salad Company, as the fresh, healthy vision of Chopt’s menu complements the work of Second Harvest Food Bank. Like Chopt, Second Harvest knows that healthy, fresh food is essential to good health. Hunger is a health issue: people who are facing food insecurity in Northwest North Carolina are not only not getting enough food, but also having trouble accessing quality, nutritious food. Second Harvest is actively working to distribute more fresh fruits and vegetables to enhance the health of the communities we serve. This support from Chopt will further that mission.” Carolyn Breese, Director of Development and Community Relations at Second Harvest Food Bank of NWNC.
The new location features over 60 seats, including communal dining areas, comfortable booth seating, a large outdoor patio area, and playful wallpaper created in partnership with Batabasta, a Spanish design duo. The store is located at 200 South Stratford Road, Suite 25B, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 and can be reached at (336) 829-5370. Chopt’s hours will be 10:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily.
