NEW & NOTEWORTHY
White Duck Taco Shop – Open now
Charlotte’s first White Duck Taco location is now open in Belmont. Expect a la carte tacos (like a Korean beef bulgogi with kimchi and avocado puree) served alongside beer and cocktails. Find them at 10th St. and Siegel Ave.
The Strudel Shop – Open now
Charlotteans can now enjoy both sweet and savory strudels from Dee Hang, Sous chef and Kevin Kelly, chef at The Strudel Shop. Find them at 510 E 15th St. Suite A.
Max & Lola – Open now
Max and Lola in South End has reopened with a focus on beer, wine, craft cocktails and a rotating schedule of food trucks. Find them at 1501 S Mint St.
Devil’s Logic Brewery – Open now
Charlotte’s newest brewery is now open in Midtown. Expect craft brews, ample indoor and outdoor seating and a rooftop seating area. Find them at 1426 E 4th Street.
Room and Board – Open now
Room and Board is now serving their take on “reimagined pub fare” plus a lively bar. Visit now at 3228 N Davidson St.
The Goodyear House – Opening soon
Coming soon to NoDa, The Goodyear House will serve elevated classics in a carefully curated neighborhood hangout. Find them later this month.
Urban Food Group has closed its Vivace Charlotte location at the Metropolitan.
After almost 10 years in business, the restaurant closed Tuesday evening 12/31/19 due to failed lease negotiations, reports the Charlotte Observer. Urban Food Group also owns two hot CLT spots, Bar Marcel and Civetta plus restaurants in Raleigh, Wilmington and Denver CO.

Learn how to make your own sushi at this two-hour class.
Hello, Sailor Guest Chef Dinner Series
January 7 | 7 p.m.
The fourth date of Hello, Sailor’s guest chef series features James Beard Foundation semi-finalist Chef Meherwan Irani. $120+ per person.
Caymus Wine Dinner Event
January 14 | Foxcroft Wine Co-Waverly | 7 p.m.
Don’t miss the first wine dinner at Waverly featuring four courses with wine pairings. $75 per person and reservations are required in advanced.
Kids Eat Free – Chopt Jr. Launch
January 18 | Chopt Creative Salad Co. (Arboretum) | 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
After October’s successful event celebrating the launch of the Chopt Jr Kids Menu, Chopt at the Arboretum will bring back the fun and free meals on January 18. In celebration of the new kids’ menu, expect magicians, kids activities and prizes, a special appearance from Sir Purr and free meals for kids under 12.
Peruvian Winter Peña Party
January 18 | POPLAR – Tapas Restaurant & Bar | 6:30 p.m.
Party Peruvian style with dinner, wine, Pisco, music and a Marinera dancer. $85 (plus tax and gratuity).
Noche Italiana Beer Dinner
January 19 | Pilot Brewing | 6:30 p.m.
Enjoy an Italian-themed beer pairing dinner with Edwin’s Organix and Pilot beer. $38+ per person.
Davidson Lamb and Wine Dinner
January 25 | Davidson Ice House | 6:30 p.m.
Davidson Ice House is hosting a farm to table Lamb and Wine Dinner featuring dishes with local lamb from Sun Raised Foods paired with wine from Fine Wine Trading Company. $65+ per person.
January Beer Dinner
January 30 | Suffolk Punch 6:30 p.m.
Executive Chef Eric Litaker and Brewer Brant Butler will team up to offer a five-course menu with beers selected to pair with the flavors of each plate. View the full menu here.
Charlotte Restaurant Week Starts Jan 17
Make reservations now for Queen’s Feast, when more than 140 area restaurants will offer three courses for $30-$35.
