This restaurant will bring the flavors and feel of the Southwest to SouthPark.

Pink Cactus Bar Kitchen is under construction at 4423 Sharon Road. Expect Pink Cactus to open on March 19, with a grand-opening celebration to follow March 30.

It occupies roughly 3,000 square feet that was formerly home to Treehouse Whiskey and Fork, which closed about a month ago. Treehouse’s ownership is behind Pink Cactus as well.

“Treehouse was successful, but in the restaurant world, there’s a time to update and refresh to give the market what it is looking for and we believe Charlotte is looking for Pink Cactus,” says Bryan Godart, general manager.

Expect a Southwest-inspired menu with 35-plus tequilas, sangrias, 25 beers and innovative craft cocktails as well.

Updates and renovation of that space continue. The goal is to create a neighborhood gathering place.

The decor will have a modern and hip Southwest vibe. Think succulents, white-washed checkered floor, mixed-colored walls and a bar that overlooks the patio. The patio has been expanded and covered.

Plans call for the host stand to double as a coffee and macaron bar. The space will also boast 12 big-screen TVs and 22 bar seats. The restaurant has 200-plus seats.

“I’m excited for Pink Cactus to offer a different vibe in SouthPark,” Godart says.

Hours will be from 11 a.m. until midnight Monday through Thursday; from 11 a.m. until 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday; and from 10:30 a.m. until midnight Sunday.
