CHARLOTTE — National Public Radio station WFAE is moving its University City headquarters to uptown, where it plans to open a community engagement hub.
The local station announced this week that it is moving to 301 E. 7th St. in Charlotte’s First Ward neighborhood. Joe O’Connor, WFAE president and chief executive officer, told Charlotte Business Journal that the station will sublease the two-story, 12,000-square-foot building from current tenant Google Fiber for four years, then from owner Levine Properties for another five, with the option to extend.
