This James Beard award-winning chef is doubling down on his plans for Plaza Midwood. Chef Tyson Cole’s Uchibā has inked a deal for a rooftop space at Commonwealth.

The venture will deliver higher-end bar food in a more social setting, says Tony Montero, CEO of Hai Hospitality. Uchibā will have its own menu, casual ambiance and entrance — though it will be located above sister concept Uchi.

“It’s bringing the flavors and that elevated feel, but at the same time being able to offer it in a different setting,” Montero says. “It’s a little but more approachable and the price points are a little bit lower.”
