New Hyde Park residents don’t have to travel too far to expand their palates. Chopt is bringing foreign flavors to them in the form of salad.
The salad restaurant, known for choosing a new destination every 60 days to create a newly inspired salad, will open its latest branch in New Hyde Park on Thursday.
This is Chopt’s second Long Island location; the first is in Woodbury.
“We’re excited to grow our presence on Long Island with this second location,” Colin McCabe, co-founder of Chopt, said in a news release. “We look forward to sharing our passion for healthy, flavorful eating with our New Hyde Park neighbors.”
The restaurant, located at 1606 Marcus Ave., has over 55 seats, including communal dining areas, comfortable booth seating and a large outdoor patio area, according to Chopt.
The New Hyde Park location will open with Mexico as the chosen destination, featuring Mexican Street Corner Caesar, Spicy Verde Chicken Bowl and Mexican Goddess Bowl, according to the news release.
In addition to Chopt’s regional creations, there is a build-your-own salad option for customers.
For its opening day, Chopt will honor its customary Chopt Gives Day where customers receive a free salad with any monetary donation for a local charity. For the New Hyde Park location, Chopt will donate to Long Island Cares.
“Thank you … to Chopt for supporting Long Island Cares in our fight to end hunger on Long Island,” Cheryl Steinhauer, special events manager at the organization, said, according to the Chopt news release.
The offer will be available on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The normal business hours of 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. will begin on Friday.
