Healthy eating just got more exciting on Long Island as Chopt Creative Salad Co. opened a new location in New Hyde Park on Friday. It becomes the 52nd location overall and the second on Long Island—the first opened in Woodbury in February.

“We’re excited to grow our presence on Long Island with this second location,” Chopt co-founder Colin McCabe said in a statement. “We look forward to sharing our passion for healthy, flavorful eating with our New Hyde Park neighbors.”

Expect to find the usual build-your-own salad options and classics like the Santa Fe coming with avocado, grape tomatoes, corn, pepper jack, homemade fried onions, romaine and sweet & smoky chipotle vinaigrette. But the new location also comes with a special section: Destination Mexico. Diners can dig into a Mexican street corn caesar, spicy verde chicken bowl and Mexican goddess bowl. The latter is made with avocado, Mexican street corn, spicy pickled vegetables, seasonal radish, a Chopt blend and spiced blue corn tortilla chips. Even better? It’s less than 400 calories!

The fast-casual restaurant, which McCabe founded with his best friend Tony Shure in New York City in 2001, also offers scratch-made dressings and freshly-brewed iced teas and lemonades.

And the new location comes with plenty of seating options to boot. There are over 55 seats including booths, communal dining areas and an outdoor patio perfect for future warm days.

Chopt in New Hyde Park is located at 1606 Marcus Avenue. It’s open 10:30am-9:30pm daily.
