The proprietors behind NoDa’s Crepe Cellar and Growlers Pourhouse have officially opened their latest venture — Reigning Doughnuts, a walk-up shop serving hot, fresh sweet treats as well as coffee. According to a post on Instagram, the establishment planned to open at 7 a.m. today.

Meanwhile, on the opposite side of uptown Charlotte, upscale restaurant Zeppelin has delayed its South End opening. As previously reported by CBJ, Zeppelin had planned to begin offering its chef-driven fare and cocktails on Dec. 26. A news release from the restaurant indicates it hopes to open within a week, but holiday closings and scheduling issues make it difficult to provide a specific date. For now, a Jan. 5 grand-opening celebration is still planned.

“We just want to do this right,” says Chef Vince Giancarlo in the release. “We want to make sure that we’re completely prepared, free of restriction and can properly show Charlotte what our team, and our menus are made of. We hope our future patrons will understand and appreciate our care with this decision.”
