Summer is here! With summer comes lots of cookouts, pool outings and events to attend. June is a month full of outdoor and indoor activities and events perfect for couples, friends and for the whole family. Here is a rundown of some of the events we can’t wait to attend this month.
June 1, 2018: #WalkCLT 2018 Powered by OrthoCarolina

June 1, 2018: Platinum Gala Benefitting Time Out Youth
Time Out Youth, which supports LGBTQ youth in the region, throws its annual gala featuring food, one drink ticket per person, a silent auction, dancing and entertainment. The event is at Le Meridien from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. and tickets start at $100. eventbrite.com
June 1, 2018: Best of the Best Awards Party presented by Charlotte Magazine
Known as the BOB Awards, this annual event turns 20 this year, and to celebrate, Charlotte Magazine is hosting a Roaring ‘20s-themed awards party. Attendees are encouraged to dress in ‘20s attire and will enjoy food from the 10 restaurants on this year’s award winner list. June 2, 2018: 2018 Keep Pounding 5K
Run for a good cause and maybe see a Panther in the process. The 5K race will begin at 8 a.m. at Levine Cancer Institute and proceed up Morehead Street toward the stadium. Participants will get the chance to run through the North Gate Entrance and up the ramps to the 500 level with the route eventually ending at the Panthers Practice Field. Proceeds will go to the Keep Pounding Fund, which supports cancer research efforts throughout Carolinas HealthCare System. Registration is $30. carolinashealthcarefoundation.org
June 2, 2018: Dudeapalooza

June 2, 2018: Blue Blaze Second Anniversary

June 3, 2018: We’ve Got the Jazz Festival
Join the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art and CLTure at the Bechtler for their second annual We’ve Got the Jazz Festival. This family friendly event runs from noon to 6 p.m. and will feature live music on two stages, art activities, local vendors, food trucks, games and a cash bar. June 7, 2018: A Night at the Museum Presented by the Urban Farm at Aldersgate
A Night at the Museum (the Charlotte History Museum) will feature cuisine prepared by six chefs from popular Charlotte restaurants Heirloom, The Yolk, Project 658, Yafo, 5 Church and Fern. There will also be drinks from Dover Vineyard, Shelton Vineyard and Resident Culture Brewing Company and a specialty beverage prepared by mixologist Bob Peters. Proceeds benefit The Urban Farm at Aldersgate, a non-profit collaboration to address food insecurity in east Charlotte and beyond. June 8-10, 2018: Taste of Charlotte
Taste of Charlotte is a 3-day festival featuring over 100 samples from area restaurants, live music and entertainment, cooking demonstrations, children’s activities and so much more! Admission is free, but you will need to purchase tokens to use for food samples, beverages and activities for kids. June 9, 2018: Summer Yoga Fest
NC Yoga Bar and OrthoCarolina have joined forces to present Summer Yoga Fest at Symphony Park in SouthPark. They will host two free classes on the lawn – an all levels flow class and a gentle flow class. Attendees can take one or both classes to start their Saturday off right. June 10, 2018: The Duke Mansion Home & Garden Tour
Learn about the history of the Duke Mansion, on the National Register of Historic Places, while walking the 4.5 acres of gardens and sipping your favorite drink. June 14, 2018: Smoke + Spice Dinner
Chef Chris Coleman of Stoke and Chef Shai Fargian of YAFO Kitchen are teaming up for a Smoke + Spice dinner at Stoke on June 14th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This collaborative dinner will feature a six-course menu marrying local ingredients with the flavors of the Mediterranean.
