Siggy’s Good Food

Projected opening: Today! September 4.

Concept: New York-style neighborhood cafe. It’ll be part organic Mediterranean sandwich and salad bar, part juice bar and part wine bar.

Location: Belmont, 1001 Belmont Ave.


MERE’S

Projected Opening: September 5

Concept: European-inspired cheese and wine shop. MERE’s will offer a large variety of cheeses and charcuterie, specialty boards and featured sandwiches along with wine and craft beer.

Skrimp Shack

Projected Opening: Early September

Concept: Fried fish chain positioning itself as the “Chick-fil-A of seafood”

Pour Taproom

Projected Opening: September

Concept: Hoppin’-style self-serve bar with locations in places like Durham, Asheville and Charleston. Pour Charlotte will have 118 taps — half of them dedicated to North Carolina beers and the rest featuring beers from all over the world.

Groucho’s Deli

Projected Opening: September

Concept: Groucho’s opened in Columbia, South Carolina, in 1941 and serves cold and hot deli sandwiches, salads piled high with cheese and meats and a delicious dipping sauce called Formula 45 (think Thousand Island/Russian-ish).

Nuvole Rooftop TwentyTwo

Projected Opening: September

Concept: Rooftop bar and restaurant on the 22nd floor of a new dual-branded AC Hotel / Residence Inn project at the EpiCentre. It’ll be a 4,400-square-foot space with a large U-shaped bar, floor-to-ceiling windows, firepits and a 2,200-square-foot outdoor patio.

Legion Brewing SouthPark

Projected opening: September

Concept: 2-story taproom with an upscale bar bites menu. The 12,000-square-foot SouthPark space will feature a 2-story taproom with 40 taps, an upscale bar bites menu, a 20-person circular bar on the first floor and a more relaxed vibe on the second, plus a private space available for rent. Also, the brewery will have a massive 2,500-square-foot patio.

Sukoshi

Projected Opening: September

Concept: Grab-and-go sushi restaurant based on styles and flavors from O-Ku. The Indigo Road, parent company of O-Ku Sushi and Oak Steakhouse, is bringing a fast-casual version of O-Ku to a 2,000-square-foot of space in the heart of Uptown fronting Tryon Street near Bank of America Plaza. Don’t expect your normal takeout sushi. They’ll offer specialty rolls, sashimi, nigiri and dim sum dumplings along with poke bowls, salads and craft beer/sake for the after work crowd.

EastSide Local Eatery

Projected Opening: September

Concept: Coffee shop and neighborhood restaurant featured salads, juices, smoothies, soups, sandwiches, pastries, avocado toast and and NC nut butter toast.

Copain

Projected Opening: Fall

Concept: Bakery and market from Rooster’s owner Jim Noble. Copain will offer bakery items like bread, breakfast pastries, pies and cakes as well as grab-and-go sandwiches, soups, seasonal salads, vegetables, proteins, complete meals, wine, coffee and more. Customers will have the option of online ordering and Copain will also offer a curated selection of kitchen and home goods just in case you need a quick gift with your baguette and bottle of wine.

Town Brewing

Projected Opening: Fall

Concept: Right next door to Rhino Market, the brewery is housed in a roughly 11,000-square-foot space that has played home to an auto garage and industrial equipment supplier. goal is to make the brewery’s intimate 24-tap taproom feel less like a warehouse and more like a living room and almost Cheers-esque environment with a staff that makes customers feel welcome while simultaneously educating them on all things beer.

The Waterman

Projected opening: Fall

Concept: Two-story, oyster-themed restaurant and bar with a rooftop terrace from Paul Manley, the brains behind Sea Level in Uptown

Barcelona Wine Bar

Projected Opening: Fall

Concept: Popular Spanish tapas and wine bar chain with a chic European vibe. Barcelona combines rustic, classic Spanish and Mediterranean flavors with other influences from North Africa and Southern France, and the result is a delicious array of tapas, dried savory meat and Spanish cheeses that pair well with the wide selection of wine from Barcelona’s expansive menu.

The Crunkelton

Projected opening: Fall

Concept: Classy cocktail bar and restaurant. This will be Gary Crunkleton’s second cocktail bar. The original Crunkleton on Franklin Street in Chapel Hill has garnered national attention, most recently being named one of the Six Best Bourbon Bars in the South by Garden & Gun magazine. It’s legit, and this is a big deal for Charlotte’s bar scene.

Idlewild

Projected Opening: Late 2018

Concept: Cozy cocktail bar. They won’t have a menu — you just tell them what you’re looking for and they’ll make it.

Noble Smoke

Projected Opening: Early 2019

Concept: Jim Noble, the restaurateur behind Rooster’s Wood-Fired Kitchen and King’s Kitchen, has a new venture in the works — a massive barbecue restaurant in an old bus storage facility on the west side

Bossy Beaut’s Chicken Shack

Projected Opening: Early 2019

Concept: Look for a simple menu – Chicken sandwich, slaw, salad and fries — plus a custom beer from Hyde Brewing. The chicken is brined and then buttermilk-soaked before being seasoned with salt and pepper, floured and deep-fried.

Hawkers Asian Street Food

Projected Opening: Early 2019

Concept: Orlando-based Asian restaurant inspired by hawker stalls of southeast Asia. Hawkers’ menu features “the best and most popular street foods from all over Asia,” including Singapore “Chilli” crab, Filipino-style crispy chicken skins and noodle soups. The menu is divided into five main categories: small plates, noodle soups, salads, noodles, and rice dishes.

Indaco

Projected Opening: March 2019

Concept: Indigo Road, the restaurant group behind O-Ku Charlotte and Oak Steakhouse, will launch this Italian restaurant. The Italian restaurant will be named Indaco Charlotte. It’ll be Indaco’s second location; the original is in Charleston. Indaco Charleston is a hit.

Common Market South End

Neighborhood market and deli. It’ll open on Tremont Ave near Bang Bang and Zeppelin.

Gourmet donuts. This popular Matthews-based bakery will take over the Key Shop building in the parking lot. They’ll be serving 12-15 doughnuts available seven days a week.

The Washington-based fast-casual Mediterranean chain. The menu features dozens of greens, grains, dips, spreads, proteins and toppings used to create customizable bowls and pita wraps.

This popular South End brewery has signed a lease for 5,700 square feet at Novel NoDa, a mixed-use apartment development near the 36th Street Station on the light rail extension.
