OCT. 16, 10:30 A.M. – Chopt Creative Salad Co., a New York-based chain of salad restaurants, will open its first location in the region Oct. 17 at Willow Lawn in Henrico.

The location, at 1601 Willow Lawn Drive, will partner with FeedMore Oct. 16 as part of a soft opening. Guests who dine Oct. 16 between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. or between 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. and who make a donation to FeedMore will receive a free salad.

“We’re thrilled to announce the opening at Willow Lawn,” said Colin McCabe, Co-Founder of Chopt. “We’ve been on a mission to get people to crave salad and we’re excited to be opening in Richmond, a community that exhibits our values of quality, wellness and healthy living. We look forward to sharing our passion for flavorful eating with the capital city.”

Chopt combines seasonal ingredients and flavors from around the world to create unique salad options. It offers its own made-from-scratch dressings and fresh iced teas and lemonades made in house and works with local suppliers to build its menu.

“FeedMore is excited to have Chopt join our community of supporters,” said Tim McDermott, chief development officer at FeedMore. “With the funds raised through the Chopt Gives campaign, we will be able to provide healthy meals through our Kids Cafe and BackPack programs to children across our region who struggle with hunger.”

In addition to its featured and build-your-own salad options, Chopt “travels” to a new destination every 60 days. The Willow Lawn location will open with Destination Mexico, and guests will be among the first to try the tastes of the region via Chopt’s Mexican Street Corn Caesar, Spicy Verde Chicken Bowl and Mexican Goddess Bowl.

The Willow Lawn location features more than 75 seats, including communal dining areas, an outdoor patio area and Richmond-inspired wallpaper created in partnership with Batabasta, a Spanish design duo.

Chopt’s hours will be Monday-Friday, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday, from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
