Big news for Concord: Gibson Mill is being revamped as a food hall-style dining and shopping spot that will open in early 2020. It will occupy the space formerly known as the Gibson Manufacturing Company, which produced bedding, sheets, and towels as far back as 1899.

At 656,000 square feet, the mill is one of the area’s largest adaptive reuse projects. As a community gathering spot,  Gibson Mill Market will offer retail, craft breweries, dining, and office space. The 17,000 square foot Market area will have rentable/retail space for 10 to 12 local vendors, as well as a full-service restaurant inside.

Driving this project is Southpaw Investors, a group of Concord-based friends who purchased Gibson Mill in 2004. “When we purchased this mill 15 years ago, it was desolate with only one caretaker remaining,” says Tom Cotter, partner at Southpaw Investors. “Today it’s a vibrant community hub, with nearly 300 people who work on-site, and hundreds more who shop and do business here. We decided that a dining destination would nicely compliment the adjoining breweries and retail establishments.”

Look for additional tenants to be announced in the coming months.
