Recently, Charlotte Agenda subscriber and lover of fun, Patricia, reached out with the brilliant idea of rounding up trivia nights around the city. As someone who enjoys being entertained while consuming alcohol, I was surprised I hadn’t thought of a list like this sooner.
While not comprehensive, all the trivia nights listed below are confirmed with the establishment to minimize disappointment of creating the perfect team name only to find out trivia night no longer exists (although I recommend confirmed because these change all the time). After all, coming up with a team name that’s the perfect mix of clever pun and humorous innuendo is arguably the most difficult part of trivia night.
If you love playing along to Jeopardy at the gym, crushing your opponents in Quiz Up! and winning enough in-house gift cards to make a dent in your bar tab, this list is for you.

Pint Central: Trivia at 8 p.m. $3 select beers.
The Flying Saucer: I used to CRUSH trivia at the Saucer in college. Now it’s dictated by their corporate office and just doesn’t have the same flavor. That said, you can’t beat winning money off your bar tab at a place with such a kickass selection of brews. Play in University at 7:30 or 9:30 p.m.
Lebowski’s Neighborhood Grill: Four rounds of trivia, including a visual round, music round and movie round. Reservations are key. 8 p.m.
Legion Brewing: This Plaza Midwood hotspot kicks off Team Trivia every Tuesday at 7 p.m. With a typical range of 13-18 teams in attendance, you better get ready to compete since the top 3 teams win Legion gift cards.
Libretto’s Pizzeria: The Woodlawn Road location does team trivia, usually sponsored by a brewery. 7 p.m.
Petra’s Piano Bar: Thanks to rave Yelp reviews, this spot is now on my trivia bucket list. Join Lana Cane every second Tuesday at 8:30 p.m.

StrikeCity: RAVE Trivia starts at 8:30 p.m. every Tuesday night. Drink specials are $4 local beers and $5 Pinnacle.
Spare Time Entertainment Center: From a reader: “The BEST trivia show in the entire area is at Spare Time Entertainment Center in Huntersville! As of this week, it has run EVERY Tuesday for 443 weeks (yep, since fall of 2008 we haven’t missed a Tuesday … including Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, etc.). Crowds average 75 to 125 people and 15 to 20+ teams. The show is called “Trivia With A Twist” and themes change weekly. It is live-hosted trivia, but also broadcast on all the televisions (this allows use of pictures, animations … not to mention the fact everyone can see and read the questions even when it’s hard to hear). There are food and drink specials that change weekly, as well. People play for nightly prizes, as well as a monthly trophy.”
Wednesday
Flight: From an Agenda reader: “Each Wednesday the trivia is sponsored by a different brewery around charlotte and winners of each round receive prizes to the brewery, and in most cases the overall winner can receive a private tour (whole team included) around the brewery.”
Brazwells: Hit up Montford for sports trivia at 7 p.m.
Tin Roof: Trivia at 7 p.m. and karaoke at 9 p.m.
Revolution: I love trivia at Revolution. There’s nothing better than grabbing a table on the patio, a pitcher and a pie when it’s warm out.
Kickstand Burger Bar: With half price bottles of wine on Wednesday, I think you’ve just found your next girl’s night out. Be there by 8 p.m. to join in the fun.
Ed’s Tavern: Music trivia at 9 p.m. They also do a general trivia on Thursdays.
Brass Tap: Half off wine. Check their Facebook page ahead of time for a bonus question. Prizes for first, second and third place. 7 p.m.
Heist Brewery: From an Agenda reader: “The host uses their giant projection screen for his trivia and it’s almost always a packed house! Fun “Minute to Win It” style tiebreakers and 4 rounds of awesome trivia!”
Tavern on the Tracks: I’ve played trivia at Tavern on the Tracks and found the questions pretty easy for a well-rounded group, but it’s really hard to hear. Make sure you grab a table near the host or a speaker when trivia starts at 8 p.m.
Fitzgerald’s Irish Pub: Get there by 9 p.m. for trivia, $3.50 drafts and free parking in the Wake Forest Parking Garage.
Steamers Sports Pub: From an Agenda Reader: “The absolute best trivia is at Steamers Sports Pub on Wednesday nights. It’s also 1/2 price nights followed by karaoke.”
Solstice: From an Agenda reader: “Wednesdays at Solstice Tavern is the BEST spot for trivia. Big Pop the host has the most unique and interactive video trivia we have ever played. It’s half bar trivia, half game show. He has taken traditional bar trivia and turned into the most entertaining quiz show we have ever played. THIS is the future of Trivia. Sign up starts at 8, prizes for first, second and last place. Great drink specials and a great patio too. You can play inside or outside!”

The Local: From an Agenda reader: “The Local on 5th has trivia starting at 5:30 pm, so it’s perfect if you work uptown to head over right after work. They also have half off selected apps, $2 miller high life’s (the champagne of beer as my co-workers like to call it), and also other drink specials including $3 wells (99% sure on that one). There are 5 rounds, and winners get to spin the wheel for a free pitcher of beer!”
Murphy’s Kitchen and Tap: Trivia starts at 7:30 p.m.
Unknown Brewing Company: Hang out with Geeks Who Drink. Trivia starts at 7 p.m.
Coco and the Director: From Coco and the Director: “Attendees will enjoy $4 tall boys, half off pastries and the winner will receive a $20 Coco and the Director gift card. Next month, Trivia returns on February 9 and 23.”
Ed’s Tavern: While Ed’s has music trivia on Wednesday, I’m all about general trivia on Thursdays at 9 p.m.
Friday
I couldn’t find any confirmed listings of trivia on Fridays. This feels like a real miss for people who are bad at organizing their own game nights, but need to socialize on the weekends.
