Time and again, salad dressings are part of that list of ingredient MVPs. Sure, I can make my own salad dressing—and often do—but store-bought varieties save a ton of time and have so many uses. Obviously, they are great on a lunchtime salad, but I also love them as marinades, condiments dips, and as base ingredients for many non-salad dishes. Dressings can be the ultimate flavor enhancer, if you happen to choose the right one for the dish.

Chefs feel the same way, and even with endless cooking prowess and ingredients at their disposal, they often have a favorite store-bought dressing always found in their home kitchen.
