CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Before the pandemic, the owners of the popular bakery Amélie’s had announced plans to relocate its flagship café at 2424 N. Davidson Street to a new location just down the street. However, the COVID-19 outbreak and all its uncertainties halted construction. Now, with business closer to “normal,” the owners have decided to push forward with their original plan.

On Thursday, Amélie’s announced its official lease signing at 136 East 36th Street, which is 1.2 miles away from the current location.
