Chopt Opening In Uptown Next Spring

August 28, 2018

CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA August 27, 2018: Chopt Creative Salad Co., the fast-casual restaurant that reimagined what a salad can be, is excited to announce plans for its 4th restaurant in Charlotte. The salad pioneer has signed a lease at 212 S. Tryon in the heart of Uptown and hopes to open in Spring 2019.

Chopt first entered the Charlotte market with its Park Road Shopping Center location in 2015, and has since expanded with Blakeney and Arboretum locations opening in the past 2 years. They focus on combining seasonal ingredients with authentic flavors from around the world to invent unbelievably craveable salads. As a result of these efforts, Chopt has has been named “Best Salad” by Charlotte Magazine for two years running.

At Chopt, 18 scratch-made dressings, ranging from avocado-based Mexican Goddess to herbaceous Basil Mint Vinaigrette, are all made fresh daily. The brand also builds partnerships with regions artisans and purveyors inside each of its communities like Lenny Boy Kombucha, Holly Grove dairy and Roots Hummus, to add a local perspective to each menu.

“Our growth in North Carolina has been incredibly exciting,” says Colin McCabe, Chopt Co-founder. “We first came to Charlotte in 2015 with a simple goal – to share our passion for creating the most craveable salads imaginable. The response we have seen has been amazing, and the relationships we have developed along the way with local farmers, artisans, and fans, has been really special. After many requests for a metro Charlotte location, we couldn’t be more thrilled to share our health-forward food with the Uptown community.”

The new Uptown space (3,048 sq ft) was most recently occupied by Fifth Third Bank. The historic Johnston Building’s retail leasing is managed by Legacy and houses tenants like Montreat College, Synechron, Ciena Capital, and CG Technologies. More information on the buildout and opening timeline to come.

“If the ownership group could have picked any fast casual concept for the new front door of the building, our first choice would have been Chopt,” says Adam Williams, Principal at Legacy CRE who represented the owner in this transaction. “Their brand embodies the spirit of the The Johnston Building, and we are excited to redevelop the ground floor of this historic building into something new and fresh for the building and Uptown residents and workers.”
